The PolarFire® SoC FPGA family delivers a combination of low power consumption, thermal efficiency and defense-grade security for smart, connected systems. It is the first System-on-Chip (SoC) FPGA with a deterministic, coherent RISC-V CPU cluster and a deterministic L2 memory subsystem for creating Linux® and real-time applications. PolarFire SoC FPGAs span from 25K to 460K Logic Elements (LEs) and feature 12.7 Gbps transceivers.

PolarFire SoC FPGAs Enable Deterministic Asymetric Multiprocessing (AMP) Linux® Applications


Safety-critical systems, system control and security applications need the flexibility of the Linux Operating System (OS) and the determinism of real-time systems to control hardware. Typical Symmetric Multiprocessing (SMP) implementations may offer the flexibility of a rich operating system but are terrible for running real-time systems needing deterministic performance.

Physical Memory Protection (PMP)


PMP is implemented in each of the PolarFire SoC FPGA’s processor cores. PMP  is used to enforce memory access restrictions in conjunction with the machine's privilege state (machine mode, supervisor mode and user mode).
